Through the Game Promotion Scheme, NIMBI supports initiatives that strengthen professional standards in the Danish games industry and increase awareness, accessibility and engagement with Danish digital games. Applications are accepted monthly, except in July and December.
The pool provides grants for activities that promote games - including dissemination and professional dialog in the Danish games industry -, professional development focused on game content and storytelling, and the promotion of Danish digital games in Denmark and internationally.
The Game Promotion Scheme can provide grants for primarily the following types of activities:
1. organizing courses, seminars and other short-term continuing education activities in Denmark.
2. Dissemination initiatives, publications and other forms of knowledge sharing related to Danish game development.
3. Game developers’ participation in presentations of Danish digital games at major international conferences, award ceremonies and similar professional forums.
4. Networking within the games industry and networking between the games industry and other media industries or art fields.
The grant recipient must be anchored in a company that is registered in the Central Business Register (CVR). It is possible to get an exemption from the CVR registration requirement for applicants from the EU, EEA or Switzerland. Contact Mikkel Thomassen for guidance on this. Applicants must also document that they have the necessary skills to carry out the activity for which they are applying for a grant.
You can apply for Game Promotion grants at set application deadlines, which are published on this page. After the deadline, the applications will be assessed by a game promotion consultant. The position is currently held by NIMBI's Head of Grant Administration Mikkel Thomassen.
The applications are assessed based on a set of grant criteria focusing on professional dialog and networking, professional development in the industry and spreading awareness of Danish digital games. See the document "Criteria for assessment" for a more detailed description.
